THE RUN DOWN ON RICHARD?

I run, a lot. I run a really cool and tasty taco shop. I throw a few really cool parties here in the city of Philadelphia and I work with a few brands as an ambassador . I feel like one day I'm going to have to pick a title like "Lifestyle specialist", even though I have no idea what that actually means, and stick with it. But until then I'll describe myself as an amazing fella who is passionate about every single aspect of life. I really embrace the journey though. Both living it and sharing it. I sometimes like to think I have life all figured out but that's really far from the truth. That's also the fun part about it. Trying things, falling flat on my face, laughing about it, getting back up and trying again. All with a huge smile on my face.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS/PASSION PROJECT?

About a year ago I decided that I wanted to take my love for running and turn it into....something. I wasn't sure what that something was going to be but I knew combining this new love affair and my ability to bring really awesome people together would equal something great. A few months and a lot of terrible ideas later #RunningWithRichardIssa was born! A weekly run group that invites new and aspiring runners to throw away every fear they have of running and join a fun, positive, energetic and inspiring group. Along with the weekly runs I have added bi-monthly run/fitness challenges to keep members engaged along with a monthly spin class just to mix things up. Since we started the challenges and spin classes I have realized I am starting to falling in love with all aspects of fitness. Until I figure out what I want to do with those feelings I'll continue to help my group members achieve whatever run goals they might have. I have about 83 new ideas a day that I plan to try with the #RWRI gang. Stay tuned for how those go.

NAME 3 POSITIVE THINGS YOU DO EACH DAY AND WHY?

Let's see. 1) I start everyday reading my daily devotional and praying. I can't think of a better way to start my day than giving thanks for the many blessings I receive. 2) Workout. 95% of the time my workout is a run. I like to run without headphones so I can just get lost in my thoughts (sometimes driving myself crazy) and enjoy the scenery. 3) Smile. I love smiling. No matter what. The good, the bad, and for no reason at all, I smile. Not only does it make me feel super good but I like to imagine everyone that comes across my wonderful smile automatically becomes happier.

YOU ARE A NEW ADDITION TO THE CRAYON BOX. WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?

Blue. I was going to leave it at "Because that's my favorite color" but I decided to Google blue and apparently the color blue has positive affects on the mind and body. So I'll go with that!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO LIVE A MORE POSITIVE LIFE?

The opportunity to inspire others. Positivity is contagious. And I try to pass it on to as many people as I possible can. There's no better feeling than seeing the positive results of sharing your positive ways.

WHAT DO YOU WORK TOWARD IN YOUR FREE TIME? AT WORK?

Along with helping others attain their run goals I have a few of my own that I'm constantly working on obviously by running and recently I've been playing around with weights in the gym. Also, I REALLY enjoy people. Talking to them, watching them and their interactions with other people. It's borderline creepy but I love it. I want to learn everything I possibly can about as many people as I can. I would like to start eating healthier so I'll soon start experimenting with different foods and recipes. Which will be comedy because I eat about 5 things.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT POSITIVE QUOTE OR MANTRA?

"I refuse to accept other people's ideas of happiness for me. As if there's a 'one size fits all' standard for happiness"

CAN YOU SHARE AN EXPERIENCE YOU'VE HAD WHERE YOU OBSERVED POSITIVE THINKING PROFOUNDLY IMPACTING YOUR LIFE?

Boy oh boy I could just say it has gotten me through every part of my adult life but I'll get a little more specific. There was a period of time where I felt like the entire universe was against me. I had stopped going to church, lost my job...kind of, and my relationship was very rocky. I truly can't imagine how I would have gotten out of that mess of a time period if it was not for my positive outlook on everything that was going on at that time. Knowing that something great would eventually come of all the madness was a large part of why I kept on pushing!

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BE A TPC AMBASSADOR?

My excitement levels are through the roof. Having a chance to join this amazing team of great people that all share the same desire to spread positivity throughout the world is a dream come true. Being positive through all things has gotten me through so much and I can't wait to spread messages of positivity to as many people as possible!
