Do you drool over food, nutrition, and meal prep pics you find on Instagram daily? What if you could walk into a restaurant and find all the healthy food you have been eyeing on social media? Not only do you see it, but it’s ready for you to pick and choose from, it’s served HOT, and it tastes like a flavor explosion, and you are drooling yet again. Except this time your mouth is full.
Walking into Real Food Eatery near Rittenhouse Square in Downtown Philly is pretty much like that.
“There is nothing better than looking up at a menu full of delicious options.”
As a health coach, it only took me a quick glance at the menu to see that RFE knows a thing or two about balanced nutrition and how to make simple, real food, crave-worthy.
For anyone with the desire to treat their body right with real, whole foods, there is nothing better than looking up at a menu full of delicious options that you know will leave you feeling fueled and fabulous for the rest of the day, having compromised nothing when it comes to your nutrition needs and goals.
“Olive oil drizzled avocado atop a bed of kale”
After enjoying a lunch of grilled salmon, perfectly-seasoned roasted sweet potatoes, and a olive oil drizzled avocado atop a bed of kale tossed in their signature Caesar salad dressing (made with Greek yogurt!), I found myself glancing over all the menu options ahead and planning ahead for what I would have “next time” I stopped in.
Portobello Mushrooms. Herb Rubbed Chicken Thighs. Roasted Carrot Fries. Grass-fed Steak. Quinoa Salad. Salmon. Sweet Potato Hummus. Slow-cooked Pork Shoulder. Warm Beets. Roasted Broccoli…
Whether you are paleo, vegan, or brand new to the idea of eating something other than a slice of pizza for lunch, RFE has all the fixings for a perfect balanced meal that you can pick and choose from to perfectly suit you and your tastebuds.
And if you are anything like me, you will absolutely be treating yourself to that freshly cut avocado half drizzled with olive oil and cracked black pepper every time you stop in.
“I get even more excited about passionate business owners who are truly committed to making the world a healthier place”
But as much as I get excited about delicious healthy food, I get even more excited about passionate business owners who are truly committed to making the world a healthier place.
After lunch, I had the pleasure of speaking with John Colasante, who with his co-founder Mike Mangold, are the masterminds behind Real Food Eatery.
Mike and John started Real Food Eatery to scratch their own itch. They wanted a place where they could get home-cooked food on the go. A place that combined an understanding of modern nutrition with an appreciation for classic, gourmet cooking techniques. Somewhere they could walk to from their homes in Center City Philadelphia and enjoy fast, affordable, filling, delicious, food made from high quality ingredients for around 10 bucks.
Talking to John, it was easy to see his passion and desire to make healthy eating accessible and easy for everyone is the real deal and I have to say that that integrity, intention, and thoughtfulness behind each menu item truly shines through to create a wonderful eating experience that will keep your positive vibes going all day long.
