TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS/PASSION PROJECT?
I've been working as a Clinical Dietitian as well as a fitness trainer and martial art teacher for the past 2+ years all while trying to branch out as an entrepreneur with online wellness coaching. I have a passion for educating, motivating, and empowering people to live healthier lives so they can not only live longer and reduce their risk for chronic diseases, but also so they can FEEL BETTER, so they can experience life as their best self - physically and mentally. My coaching is designed to help people have mindset shifts, which in turn will help initiate behavior change so that they can nix bad habits and form new and healthy habits in their place. I am currently creating a 6-week intensive transformation guide designed to help people do just that.
NAME 3 POSITIVE THINGS YOU DO EACH DAY AND WHY?
1. Identify 3 things I'm grateful for. Every day it changes, but writing them down daily helps start my day on a positive note and helps my brain focus on gratitude first thing in the morning. 2. Tell myself "I am a badass and I achieve everything I set my mind to; the only one who has the power to bring me down is myself". I believe affirmations are key in developing AND maintaining a positive mindset throughout life. 3. Smile. I believe smiling is the #1 way to spread positivity without words. I believe if more people smiled, the world would be a happier, less-judgemental place.
YOU ARE A NEW ADDITION TO THE CRAYON BOX. WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
Sky Blue! Light blue has always been one of my favorite colors because it's such a calming and revitalizing color all in one. Looking at the sky on a beautiful summer day gives me a sense of renewal and helps me feel at ease, no matter what situations life throws at me.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO LIVE A MORE POSITIVE LIFE?
My past. My entire life I've experienced many different situations that always tested my character, perseverance and mental fortitude and I believe maintaining a positive attitude and focusing on the silver lining was the one constant through all the chaos that helped me get through every situation, and ultimately led me to who I am today.
WHAT DO YOU WORK TOWARD IN YOUR FREE TIME? AT WORK?
I am black belt in TaeKwonDo and an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. When I'm not working on my business, I am training around the clock to prepare myself for tournaments. I compete all over the US and currently hold the rank of purple belt under my Coach John Disimone (who also happens to be my business partner and boyf <3)
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT POSITIVE QUOTE OR MANTRA?
I am a quote fanatic, but the one quote that has stuck with me me entire life and continues to help me stay focused on my bigger mission is: "BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD".
CAN YOU SHARE AN EXPERIENCE YOU'VE HAD WHERE YOU OBSERVED POSITIVE THINKING PROFOUNDLY IMPACTING YOUR LIFE?
One of the most pivotal moments in my life where positive thinking saved me was when I suffered from bulimia in high school. I was destroying myself physically and mentally through constantly degrading myself, physically abusing my body and thinking I wasn't good enough. I drove myself to the point where both my health and my relationships began to suffer. One day I had enough and knew I needed help, no matter how embarrassed I thought I'd be in reaching out and admitting my "weakness". I knew that in order to change my habits, I needed to change my mindset, specifically, the way I thought about myself. I invested in multiple self-help and positive psychology books to help alter my mindset and shift my self-image from one of negativity to one of positivity. With time and an indomitable will, I began to heal and, as you can expect, I began to thrive. Whenever I feel in a rut, I think back to this experience to remind myself that 9/10 times its all in my head. I whole-heartedly believe, with a positive attitude, anyone can do anything.
WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BE A TPC AMBASSADOR?
Based on my background story and life-long mission I provided above, it's safe to say that positivity is a concept that is near and dear to my heart for many reasons. I am excited to use my past experiences and expertise to help others see the value, importance and power in a positive mindset.
